BIRTH at the birth CENTER

A birth center is a facility for childbirth where care is provided in the midwifery and wellness model. It is freestanding and independent from a hospital.

Birth centers are recognized as an integrated part of the health care system and are guided by principles of prevention, sensitivity, safety, appropriate medical intervention and cost-effectiveness.

A birth center respects and facilitates a woman's right to make informed choices about her health care and her baby's health care based on her values and beliefs. The woman's family, as she defines it, is welcome to participate in the pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Home Birth

Gentle Landing attends an extremely limited number of births at home in the Upper Valley of NH and VT. The safety of home birth for low-risk birthing people has been studied as late as August 2019 in a large international study which found, "more women in well-resourced countries are choosing birth at home.”

PRENATAL CARE

Prenatal care at Gentle Landing is centered around time, connection, and education. Appointments are unhurried, allowing space to build a relationship with your midwives, ask questions, and feel fully supported throughout your pregnancy.

We focus on your physical, emotional, and mental well-being, preparing you for birth with confidence and clarity.

POSTPARTUM & NEWBORN

Our care continues after your baby arrives, supporting both you and your newborn through the early days and weeks of transition.

We provide in-home postpartum visits, newborn assessments, and ongoing guidance as you settle into this new chapter — ensuring you feel cared for, informed, and supported every step of the way.

well-woman carE

At Gentle Landing, well-woman care and women’s health are about more than completing an annual exam. Our 45-minute well-woman appointments give ample time for your questions, personalized education, shared decision-making, and individualized care. From well-woman exams, birth control options and contraception counseling to preconception, perimenopause, and menopause care, Ariane offers personalized women’s healthcare in the Midwifery Model of Care.
